We loved our stay with Outrageous Cabins! The cabin was incredibly nice and very clean!! It was perfect for our family of four and had everything that we needed. One of our favorite parts was the perfect view of the nightly fireworks/drone show at Dollywood every night. The only downside to this cabin is the noise level. It wasn’t terrible for us but it was certainly there. Based on other reviews it was pretty bad for some so maybe we got lucky with our upstairs and downstairs neighbors.
I wanted to rate this cabin five stars, but unfortunately we ran into a few issues with this cabin and rental company. Let me start by saying the cabin itself was very clean, pretty, and felt like you were high in the mountains with a great view, not 10 minutes from the main strip. We really appreciated the pool table and foosball table. There were plenty of towels and shampoo provided for the four of us. However, when we tried to check in the first night we were met with an unfortunate surprise....our door code would not work. I had been emailed the code by 3:00 PM before check in as stated which was great. We stayed out late and got back to the cabin around 11:00 PM. I was not worried since we had the door code already and it would have been find if it had actually been programmed to the door lock. The only saving grace that night was luckily someone had left the other door to the cabin unlocked so thank God we were able to get in, otherwise we would have had no place to stay Friday night. The host had a number listed to call after 3:00 PM if you did not receive the door code. I called when we got back around 11:00 PM when we could not get in and just got an automated message saying they were closed. I messaged them through the Airbnb app and did not receive a response until around 9:00 AM the next morning. Again, luckily a door was left open or else we really would have been stuck outside all night. The host advised they would send maintenence to fix the code not working on Saturday. We had to leave the doors unlocked to insure we would be able to get back in later which wasn't ideal considering our belongings were not secure all day while being out. We got back around 8:30 PM that night after being gone all day and found the code still not working meaning no one had come to fix it. We were super unimpressed by the lack of care when we paid a lot of money for a two day stay. The other door handle on the second front door was also loose and could have easily been pulled off. Another thing I want to point out is the AC unit is EXTREMELY loud and woke us up several times both nights of our stay. It rattles the ceiling vent so much so that it was hard to ignore at 2:00 AM. The unit is right outside the bedrooms so you can't escape the really loud droning. If you are a light sleeper, beware this WILL wake you up. I wouldn't even consider myself a light sleeper and I failed sleeping through this. I don't consider this a host problem, but definitely lost this cabin points from us. Lastly, I want to point out that unless you are on the very top floor (4th floor suite) you better hope whoever is above you isn't into stomping around like Big Foot at all hours of the night and early morning because you can hear EVERYTHING. We were unfortunate enough to have a very loud and heavy foot group of people above us (we were on the 3rd floor suite) who decided it was a great idea to run down the stairs for 20 mins both mornings at 8:00 AM and sound like they were WWE wrestling at 12:00 AM. Obviously I don't fault the host for this as they cannot control what people do or who they rent to or how they will be, it's just something to consider if you want to make sure you get actual sleep because we didn't this trip. Overall, the cabin was nice inside and the views were great, but I won't be renting this particular cabin set up again.
Great cabin best views in the smoky mountains!!
Great view of the ridge line. Perfect for family trips and small gatherings. Close enough to do everything you might ever want to do but far enough to not get stuck in pigeon forge or Gatlinburg traffic... Small groups or family events!!
